  • 7 August Ava Elizabeth Liberace, DC Chapter winner for the Winston Art Scholarship and first place winner at the National Winston Art Competition at National’s 2024 annual meeting in Illinois, described her creative techniques that intertwine with her academic interests while scrolling through examples of her art work.  DC Chapter president Ron Ivey gave a brief report on the state of the chapter and introduced Elisabeth Groninger, Vice President, Membership who plans membership events.

  • 17 October Paris by Midnight and Beyond. A French themed evening of music at the Arts Club of Washington. Produced by Arts Club Member Cliftine Jones who is also a member of NSAL-DC.

  • 4 December Open Rehearsal of Ballet X at the Kennedy Center. Dance scholars provided an insider’s look via earphones of the dancers as they prepared onstage for their evening performance.  The Rehearsal underlined the challenges of coordinating innovative choreography, the live orchestra, and lighting, resulting in a successful performance.

  • 18 December Holiday Reception - Member’s Home

While NSAL DC’s membership year runs from July to June, membership activities are typically scheduled between September and June. Business meetings are held in conjunction several times a year.

NSAL-DC hosted its annual Spring celebration at the City Tavern Club in Georgetown, Washington, DC on June 19, 2024.  Chapter members and guests were welcomed by Sue Hamilton, NSAL-DC Secretary followed by a State of the Chapter report from Ron Ivey, President.
